Opera Wicklow

Opera Wicklow is a neighborhood restaurant tucked away on Abbey Street in the heart of Wicklow, Ireland. It’s the kind of place where regulars are greeted by name and new visitors feel at home. Known for its thoughtful dishes and warm hospitality, Opera serves everything from rich, handcrafted desserts to full Irish breakfasts and beautifully plated main courses. The food speaks for itself, fresh, colorful, and unpretentious. Customers consistently praise the friendly staff, cozy atmosphere, and attention to detail, and it shows in the glowing reviews: 98% would recommend it.

Beyond the table, Opera has built a loyal following online through vibrant reels, behind-the-scenes snapshots, and daily photos that show the craft and care behind each plate. Whether it’s a freshly baked loaf, a slice of decadent cake, or a perfectly poured espresso, the visuals tell a story of a team that loves what they do. They’re easy to reach too, with a simple, inviting website (operawicklow.ie), a responsive email and phone line, and a steady presence on Facebook. Opera Wicklow isn’t trying to be flashy. It’s just a good, honest place to eat, and that’s exactly why people keep coming back.

Atmosphere is brilliant and cosy. I got a loaf of bread for almost 5 euros and it was so stale I couldn't even eat it. It was very bad and the flavour of cardboard. I got a bellyache after! sad I had to give the rest to the birds! I'd say it was more than 2 days old... The cakes looked divine though

I used to visit this bakery/restaurant almost every day because the floor staff are absolutely amazing — always friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They really make the place feel warm and inviting. Lately, I’ve been going mostly on weekends instead of during the week. Unfortunately, the food quality during the week just isn’t as good as it used to be — sometimes it can be a bit sloppy, dry, or just not quite up to the usual standard. That said, the weekend food is a completely different story — it’s beautiful, well-prepared, and genuinely enjoyable. It feels like you’re dining somewhere else entirely! Huge credit to the team for how great the weekend service and food are. I really hope the weekday menu can match that same level again, because when it’s good, it’s really good.
