Dalkey Handmade Soaps is a small-batch soapmaker based in Dalkey, Co. Dublin, crafting natural soaps with a focus on simplicity and sustainability. Founded in 2013, the business began in a kitchen and expanded to a garden studio, emphasizing the use of natural oils, butters, and essential oils, with soaps cured for 4 to 6 weeks using the traditional cold-process method. The product range includes various soap bars, gift sets, and accessories, all packaged in recycled paper to minimize environmental impact.
The soaps are 100% natural, with most being vegan-friendly, excluding those containing honey and oatmeal. Ingredients include olive oil, coconut oil, responsibly sourced palm oil, rapeseed oil, castor oil, sunflower oil, and shea butter. Natural colorings and pure essential oils are used, avoiding synthetic additives. To extend the life of the soaps, it’s recommended to store them on a slatted or free-draining soap dish, keep them dry between uses, and use them within a year of purchase.
