in the last weekMy husband and I have visited Ireland a few times, but this trip was extra special because we brought our two young kids along. While staying in Killorglin, I searched for the best family-friendly activities in Killarney, and the Kerry Creamery Experience came up on a top 10 list. Since it was close by, we decided to check it out. They close at 4pm, and unfortunately we arrived just after 3, so I assumed we had missed the last tour. However, we were greeted by Annette, who welcomed us with open arms! She and her husband were incredibly kind and even offered to give us a little tour despite being close to closing time. I can honestly say we have never experienced such incredible Irish hospitality—this couple represents the very best of Ireland. We had an absolutely delightful visit. They shared so much about Ireland’s dairy history, which we adults really enjoyed, and they were wonderfully patient with our (slightly wild!) kids. The hands-on experiences were unforgettable. We bottle-fed baby lambs, held tiny baby rabbits that hadn’t even opened their eyes yet, and watched them help calves learn to drink milk and transition from bottles. The playground was fantastic, and the kids didn’t want to leave—even for ice cream! We left feeling like part of the family. Annette was full of cheer and gave us great local recommendations, which we used to plan the rest of our evening. These owners are truly top-notch when it comes to hosting visitors and sharing their beautiful slice of the Irish countryside. Highly recommend—this was a highlight of our trip!

a week agoWhat a wonderful experience! A fantastic way to not only learn about the history of the creamery industry and butter making in Ireland, but also how to make your own butter! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour which Annette presented with enthusiasm and interest. The tour takes visitors through the dairy industry in Ireland from the early 1900's till today and how modern technology is being used to improve the industry. I would highly recommend this tour as part of a visit to Kerry.

2 weeks agoMyself and my 5 year old visited the Kerry Creamery Experience today. We had such a lovely time. Annette, Paul and their family have created a wonderful, authentic experience. First, Annette gave us a guided tour of the creamery. She was highly knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. We learned a lot and got to see lots of artefacts. Next, we ordered waffles with ice-cream and toppings in the beautiful tea room. While we waited, we enjoyed looking at the collections of vintage dishes and the art in the tea room. My daughter also had the opportunity to bottle feed a lamb which she was delighted with (thank you Paul). We got to visit the goats and kids, sheep, rabbits, chickens and we petted the donkey. After enjoying our waffles and ice-cream (delicious), we spent time in the farm-themed play area which has swings, wooden tractors with steps and slides and a play shop and creamery. I would highly recommend this experience to other families but also school groups and anyone who enjoys a good cuppa and a treat. A really lovely day out and we will be back.

2 weeks agoOne of the best stops and best tours you are ever going to do in Kerry. This family run business never disappoints. Both Paul and Annette are fantastic hosts. You’ll leave with a great insight into the history of dairy farming in Ireland and will want to come back to enjoy their locally sourced cheese and home made cakes :-) A great opportunity to support local businesses.
