Galway Cheese, nestled just outside Dunmore in North County Galway, has been crafting award-winning goat and cow milk cheeses since 2013. Their offerings include the semi-soft, Brie-style ‘Dunmore’, the natural-rinded goat milk ‘Galway Tom’, and the grass-fed cow milk ‘Galway Sinan’, each aged for a minimum of 2.5 months to develop distinct flavors. In addition to cheeses, they produce a thick and creamy farm-fresh bio-active goat’s yoghurt. These products are available at select retailers like McCambridges and Mortons in Galway, as well as Avoca Stores nationwide.

For those interested in a deeper experience, Galway Cheese offers ‘Cheese and Chats’ sessions, providing insights into their cheese-making process. Their commitment to quality and tradition makes them a notable name in Ireland’s artisan cheese scene.

I was seriously considering buying cheese from here until I looked on their website and noticed the rennet used in the cheese making process is vegetarian based and not traditional animal based. When I buy cheese I expect it to be 100% animal based without vegetable matter. The only thing I am thankful for is the companies transparency with the ingredients.

Recently stayed here. By far one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in. Absolutely everything you need is provided. Short drive to the shops for provisions. I could not recommend this place enough.
